Saturday May 16th (Day 2 of riding)

Up early again. GPS data seemed to have loaded correctly.

McDonalds for breakfast. Lady pressing Dave Hill for answers about Oklahoma.

Run to O'Reilly's auto parts store for a headlight bulb.

Some good, fun offroad sections but lots of paved sections.

Loose marbly road, good for power slides coming out of corners.

Will's deer incident site.

Road across dam closed - routed around. Nice national park area -Rocky Island.

Flat section with cleared trees - got a bit tedious and hot. Lunch time, hadn't seen a town in hours. Then found an awesome little cafe - Tator cafe. Page - 9 years old - learning the ropes to take orders. PlayStation - pictures, sound recording and modifying. Catherine - got David Hill's jokes about wanting a martini and filet mignon.

Sign - 'Hill - Use second gear'. As in David Hill change up from first to second and get going...

Storm clouds sweeping in fast. Looked pretty serious, strong winds. Our path going directly into them. Managed to find shelter at a gas station/convenience store just as the rain started.

Tennessee trotters - showing off.

Dog attack, Dave Rush emergency slow down - some blue smoke from his back tire.

Dumped bike in stream crossing. Deceptively easy crossing but surface under water was as slippery as snot. Left pannier got pulled off but was able to be put back on after some trail side panel beating. I was fine, just a slight hit to my elbow and a bruised ego.

Weather cleared but arrived in Columbia wet still.

Trip to drug store for Dave Rush to figure out what to do about alergy reactions.

Trip to auto parts store for overflow tube and washers to help restore pannier mounting points on my bike.

Dinner at Legends - Good food, right next door to the hotel.
